Why do we love our job so much?

Our passion for teaching is one of the biggest driving forces behind everything we do at Orpheus Dive.

We’ve been teaching non-stop here in Bali, and this is another wonderful class with a mother and daughter, both enjoying one-on-one instruction. Joining us as well was Ijat, together with two other fun divers.

Despite less-than-ideal conditions, our instructors and crew on site worked hard to make the experience comfortable, enjoyable, and memorable for all our guests.

A huge thank you to Ijat, Rindi, and Satu Jam for your dedication and support. We truly appreciate your efforts in making every dive a great experience.

Another successful completion of our signature PADI Open Water Diver Course combined with the Enriched Air (Nitrox) Specialty!

At Orpheus Dive, we strongly believe that divers benefit from using Nitrox whenever appropriate. So why not start building those skills and knowledge right from the very beginning of their diving journey?

We’ve been absolutely swarmed with work and teaching lately. As the only dive centre with a full-time team, it’s become surprisingly rare for all of us to sit down together and share a meal.

Over the past few months, the Orpheus Dive team has been working around the clock, constantly moving between Singapore and Bali, balancing training, courses, expeditions, and operations.

Yet what inspires us most is the passion and dedication of our instructors. Despite the demanding schedule, they continue to make time to improve, innovate, and push their own limits. Between teaching and travel, the team has been hard at work refining our new Trimix blending facilities while also advancing their own skills through GUE Technical Diver training.

It’s a reminder that excellence is not built during quiet moments—it’s forged through commitment, consistency, and a relentless desire to keep learning.

We may be busy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

When people hear “Divemaster,” they often only think of someone who guides fun dives or demonstrates skills during Open Water training.

But the PADI Divemaster course goes far beyond that.

Throughout the program, candidates develop leadership, problem-solving, and dive management skills through a variety of practical scenarios, including:

Every scenario is designed to build confidence, leadership, and problem-solving underwater.

Age is never a barrier to learning—it’s only a reminder that passion has no limits.

This weekend, one of our favorite students proved exactly that. With determination, resilience, and an incredible spirit, he conquered every challenge to complete his GUE Fundies, GUE Doubles, and now his PADI Sidemount certification.

His journey is a powerful reminder that growth happens when we keep showing up, regardless of where we start or how old we are. We couldn’t be prouder of this achievement and are excited for the adventures ahead.

We’re looking forward to exploring the underwater world together and sharing some unforgettable cave dives soon. Congratulations on this amazing milestone!

Facility upgrade: Complete. Trimix gas: Ready. 💨 🎈

Looking back, we are incredibly proud of our team's progress. From continuing GUE education to level up from recreational to technical diving, to investing in made-to-measure drysuits—every step has been intentional.

Between teaching and running the shop, we always find time to upgrade our skills. Because for us, it’s not just about the certification. We never stop learning.
