Meet a chasen master from Takayama Village in Nara—Tango Tanimura, the 20th-generation head of the Tanimura family. The family has preserved the art of chasen making for over 500 years and is one of only three remaining families granted surnames by the Tokugawa government during the Edo period.

Marukyu Koyamaen, a renowned tea producer from Uji, Kyoto, with a heritage dating back to 1704 will open their for our visit, offering an opportunity to observe the tea production process—carefully preserved and passed down through eight generations, and now recognized worldwide.

During this trip, you will have the opportunity to experience matcha grinding firsthand and receive a special gift basket with goodies from Marukyu Koyamaen and Tanimura Tango for a tea picnic on a boat.
