✨ A Journey Beyond the Ordinary ✨

On 12 March 2026, Michi & Co. was delighted to host an exclusive Hankyu Ă— PONANT gathering at GalleryBe Singapore, welcoming discerning travellers for an intimate introduction to the world of luxury expedition cruising.

More than a presentation, the afternoon was designed as a multi-sensory journey inspired by “ Sakura “Chasing” Voyage Along Japan’s Coast.“ 🌸🚢

Guests experienced Japanese culture through hands-on workshops, including wagashi finishing paired with matcha tasting and yukata dressing. The event also featured a special live calligraphy performance by Showfu, who created Sakura Kaido against a backdrop of music.
To bring the voyage to life, Chef Akane curated a collection of finger foods inspired by the cruise’s eight ports of call. Guests were invited to enjoy a guided gallery tour, exploring each destination through its story, flavours, and atmosphere, engaging all five senses along the way.

A beautiful afternoon and evening of inspiring conversations, cultural discovery, and a glimpse into one of Japan’s most extraordinary luxury cruise experiences.

Meet a chasen master from Takayama Village in Nara—Tango Tanimura, the 20th-generation head of the Tanimura family. The family has preserved the art of chasen making for over 500 years and is one of only three remaining families granted surnames by the Tokugawa government during the Edo period.
