Quaint little Lutheran church serving the Norwegian community in Singapore.

The Norwegian Seaman's Church at Pasir Panjang. Sister church of the Danish Seaman's Church perhaps?

Chanced upon this when we took a shortcut to the Teck Whye LRT station. Block 102 and 103 Teck Whye Lane are joined. From the front, it looks like one single long block. One will only notice that there isn't a common corridor upon closer observation.

We know another joint block in Tiong Bahru. Do you know any others?

Pulau Ubin - a trip to the Pukau Quarry gotten waylaid by an impromptu durian and kampong house visit. The highlight of the trip - eating homegrown, organically grown durians and a long conversation with two of the original inhabitants. An oral history lesson from a personal account that is ever so precious.

Don't just cycle and walk. Stop by, say hi to the Ubin locals, talk to them and be a part of their living historical narrative - an alternate one that is increasingly becoming marginalised as our country continues to develop at breathtaking pace.

The last stop of the Jervois-Tanglin exploration route - The Salvation Army housed at the former Kay Siang Primary School (now defunct), tells of the changes that takes place in our education landscape with school closures and mergers as our population profile changes, and also how we perceive our students differently over time.

A day spent exploring the natural heritage of the Southern Ridges. A surprising find of a historical gems that tells the rich history of the development of Singapore - Danish Seamen's Church and good-class bunglows in the midst of the rich diversity of flora, some of which as old or even older than the existing historical buildings.

We may only see this as a cemetery for the dead. But to the residents or visitors to the graveyard, this plot of land holds dear memories for them.

Living next to a cemetery is actually quite calming.
