No matter how long you’ve been in the industry or how many weddings you’ve shot, it’s okay to doubt yourself. I think that’s part of growth. Sometimes, that doubt is your mind telling you there’s still more to learn, more to explore, and more ways to push yourself.

One thing that resonated with me the most was: “You are NOT the main character. Your couple is.” That one really hit me.

If there’s one thing I want to carry forward into CV, it’s this. Our job is observation and service, not self-expression for its own sake and that intention matters.

How we observe, how we approach a moment and how we make space for our couples to simply be themselves. That’s something I want to keep reminding myself of, no matter how long I do this.

Sometimes, you need to step away from the work you’ve been doing for years to see it clearly again.

That’s probably what Fill the Frame | Workshops and Education became for me.

Six different speakers, six different perspectives, but one question that kept coming back: why do you shoot? And I realised how important it is to attend workshops to reset, unlearn and relearn. To be surrounded with like minded people. I feel that after attending the workshop, I had more insights on how to balance a business and also being a creative. Your journey can never stop, it’s always a learning journey.

We think love looks best when it isn’t trying too hard. Nadira & Emman spent the afternoon the way they probably would have without a camera around and it’s like we just happened to be there to keep a little piece of it. There was something really nice about how simple it all felt.

And maybe that’s what we’ll remember most.
