STGS, in collaboration with the JUMBO Group Singapore, held an engagement session with over 50 of our members on 13 May 2026 at JUMBO’s flagship outlet located in East Coast. Some highlights of the engagement session included a presentation provided to our members with a comprehensive understanding of the JUMBO Group's diverse portfolio, including an introduction to their various brands and outlets, a detailed overview of their FIT menu offerings, as well as essential booking guidelines for tour groups.

The JUMBO Group also shared their exciting range of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) products to our members. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to providing valuable opportunities for our members to connect with key industry partners and enhance their professional knowledge. We extend our sincere gratitude to the JUMBO Group for their gracious hospitality and informative presentation!

"Having met the members and tourist guides of STGS, I can feel they are very down to earth and are willing to go the extra mile in sharing more about Singapore to tourists. I belive the collaboration and alignment with the tourist guides will be able to empower them to do more for Singapore's tourism sector and we look forward to the synergy with STGS and its members as well as learning from each other!" - Caleb Tan, Business Development Manager, the JUMBO Group

"Having met the team from the JUMBO Group at the engaagement session, I can feel their sincerity and eagerness in wanting to engage and establish a connection with our members directly. It is good to see that our members who usually tend to operate independently are now able to enjoy a more seamless process, in terms of bookings and more, directly with the JUMBO Group."- TG Stefan Choo, STGS Board Member

"A huge thank you to STGS and the JUMBO Group for organizing such a thoughtful and productive engagement session for the guiding community.
It was fantastic to hear about the new incentive programs JUMBO has rolled out specifically for us and it’s always encouraging to see such strong support for us frontline ambassadors in the tourism industry. Thank you to the JUMBO Group once again for the warm hospitality, the valuable updates, and for bringing the guiding community together." - TG Goh Choon Kiat, STGS Member

STGS organised a talk by Mr Lim Shao Bin, an independent researcher on WWII history in the Pacific theatre with a focus on the China front and Malaya, on 11 May 2026 and was attended by over 40 members and non-members. During the talk, Mr Lim shared untold WWII Stories about Yamash*ta’s X+3 plan, British POWs and forced labour, biochemical labs, and Japanese POWs in Singapore.

"During the the talk by Mr Lim Shao Bin, he showed us slides of military maps used by the Japanese Army during the occupation of Singapore. It was especially interesting to learn many details about the preparations for the capture of Singapore, as well as the reasons for its fall. I would recommend this talk to anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the military operations. After the talk, we also had the opportunity to ask Mr. Lim further questions about his research and stories as well!" - TG Svetlana

"Having attended the talk by Mr Lim Shao Bin, I could feel the impact of the stories and the research he has done based off the experience of his Grandparents and Parents during the Japanese occupation. Mr Lim's time in Japan, his Stories and research also stemmed from his fluency with the Japanese Language. Overall I found the session both enriching and intiguing" - TG Suurijiyit
