The Hidden Christians of Goto :- The Goto Islands became a place of refuge for Christians who fled persecution from the mainland of Japan. For more than 250 years, these Hidden Christians secretly preserved their faith, traditions and prayers, passing them from one generation to the next. Living in remote coastal villages, they worshipped quietly and endured great hardship to protect their beliefs.
Today, the churches and settlements across Goto stand as a testament to their courage, faith and resilience—offering visitors a glimpse into a remarkable chapter of Japan’s spiritual history.
Join us on a 12 days Pilgrimage to Nagasaki next May 2027 to discover the beauty and story of the great many saint in this land. Their story of faith, courage, and perseverance, deeply woven into the history of Catholism in Nagasaki.
