It’s a scene that feels almost dreamlike. The warm Lombok sun kisses your skin as you stretch out on soft, golden sand at Lancing beach. The gentle hush of the waves mingles with the rustle of palm leaves, and everything slows down.

Just when you think the moment couldn’t get more surreal, a small herd of buffaloes begins to wander lazily across your view of the horizon, make their way into the ocean, splashing and cooling off in the shallows, completely at ease in the rhythm of the island.

For a moment, it felt like time stood still.

Then, just as calmly, they turned back toward the hills, leaving only their footprints behind and you were left with a sense of wonder, as if you’d just witnessed a secret piece of Lombok’s soul.
