The 4th Singapore Medical Humanities Conference places strong emphasis on Arts in Health.

The conference states the theme of living with illness beyond just clinical perspective. Rather illness is part of the human experience that involves relationships, emotion, culture and ethics. As artists, this theme certainly resonates with us.

Arts Fission is invited to present a 20min Performance-Lecture that ends with a live dance performance. Our performance-lecture raises the important point of dedicated arts space to facilitate mental wellbeing and emotional resilience.

We are very excited to open the Singapore Medical Humanities Conference on 22 Oct with an exquisite dance performance titled “Herald Rain, Greens Revived.”

This dance of healing evolves around the unique stage design of a rain-curtain. It also involved 3 senior dancers from the community performing with the professional dancers.

From the mesmerising Yin Yang solos (a giant mythic bird and a mysterious bell-ringer) framed inside two separate doors, to the unexpected shadow-play dance outside the row of glass doors of the Guesthouse — the over capacity audiences are totally wowed by the performance with the glacier like set of lunarscape.

We invited some fresh young faces to share their experience of the site-specific performance at the Japanese Garden’s Guesthouse. The dance students from NAFA truly help to light up the wellness performance with spirits!

We must say it was an overwhelming wall of audiences surrounding each of the confined performing squares in the gallery of the Alliance Francaise!

Although it was far from ideal to allow needed viewing distance to the performance, we received enthusiastic responses from most audiences who made the 11 Sept night show.

It’s been some years since we last presented performance in a gallery. But last Friday the dancers delivered an intense professional performance that stunned many audiences.

Last year’s Moonstruck Series brought audiences a sparkling and serene wellness performance at the Japanese Garden’s Reflection Pond.

For Moonstruck 2026, we are returning to the Japanese Garden, but this time moving into the grand Guesthouse by the Reflection Pond. WATERMARKS OF THE MOON will offer an enchanting performance inside the exquisite wooden framework of the Guesthouse.
