Club YRP

Club YRP Club YRP is the page of the Youth Research Program (YRP), which was established by the Insti Each student will assigned to a mentor researcher.

The Youth Research Program hopes to get more students interested about research, through activities such as open houses, workshops, and seminars. We have reached out to close to 95,000 students and teachers from 290 schools. This includes over 2,200 students and teachers who have participated in full-time research attachments at IBN for at least one month.

Our research atta

chment program provides students the opportunity to work in a lab. In our lab, they get to design and conduct their own experiments, analyse the results and present the findings at the end of the attachment. Candidates will need to commit at least one month of full-time attachment at IBN. Students and teachers from secondary to tertiary (local and overseas) are welcome to apply throughout the year. To apply, please visit: yrp.ibn.a-star.edu.sg.

We work closely with our official partner schools to nurture young scientists:

A promising step towards the commercialization of lithium-sulfur batteries - a potential replacement for lithium-ion batteries which are plagued by safety issues.

Singapore scientists from NanoBio Lab (NBL) of A*STAR have developed a novel approach to prepare next-generation lithium-sulfur cathodes, which simplifies the typically time-consuming and complicated process for producing them. This represents a promising step towards the commercialization of lithiu...

NanoBio Lab's Prof Jackie Ying on the teaching of STEM subjects: "When students can grasp the context of what they are learning and digest difficult topics, they will feel much more motivated to learn. It would be important to give students more opportunities to do experimental work. Such hands-on learning will give them a deeper appreciation of the physical context of the subjects in addition to just understanding them from a theoretical standpoint."
