The Pearl Legacy Project
began with a simple idea.
Not to say which pearl is the best.
But to help people see.

To see the difference.
To see the time,
the nature,
and the care behind them.
When people truly see value,
they begin to protect it.

Why winter harvest?
Slower metabolism.
Finer nacre layers.
Brighter luster.

The Pearl Legacy Tour is not just sightseeing. It’s an immersion.
We invite visitors to Ise Shima—the birthplace of cultured pearls—to experience their beauty, from ocean to hand.
They learn to recognize the subtle differences between each pearl with their own eyes.
They observe the devotion—how farmers care, pay attention, and truly love the oysters they raise.
They walk the same beaches we grew up on. Taste the flavors of local life.
And meet the people behind the pearls.
The Pearl Legacy Project is an invitation.
To look differently. To feel deeply. To walk together.
This is not the end. It’s only the beginning.

Freshwater pearl cultivation is a perfect example of science and art working together.
Because freshwater clams can produce pearls multiple times, they are incredibly productive. Farmers can guide color, shape, and size — even baroque pearls are often created intentionally by manipulating the nucleus.
This highly controlled process accounts for about 97% of all cultured pearls worldwide, though it’s important to know that most are chemically bleached or dyed before being sold.
Understanding these techniques is a key part of the Pearl Legacy Project, helping people see beyond the surface beauty of pearls.
