A commonly found plant at most of the military training areas in Singapore named the "Simpor", is the national flower of Brunei, scientifically known as Dillenia suffruticosa.

It is a bright yellow flower with large petals and large leaves that are also featured on the Brunei one-dollar note.

The flower symbolizes the country's resilience and growth, and is commonly found along riverbanks, particularly the Temburong River.
