From Ljubljana to the Adriatic. 🚲🌊

The Emerald Tour is one of our favourite ways to cross Slovenia by bike.

You start in the green heart of the country and gradually ride south through changing landscapes, vineyards, Karst villages and Mediterranean scenery — all the way to the Adriatic coast.

In early October, this route becomes especially appealing: cooler cycling days, quieter roads and a much calmer atmosphere than in summer.

As the Alps begin to cool down, southern Slovenia is entering one of the most enjoyable parts of the cycling season.

Quieter roads, milder days, vineyards, Karst landscapes and the Adriatic waiting at the end of the ride.

For an autumn cycling holiday, the trick is simple: head south.

And some feel like Slovenia at its very best. 🇸🇮🚴

The new cycling path between Bled and Bohinj is exactly that: a smooth ribbon through forests, river views, open meadows and mountain scenery that makes you want to slow down just to take it all in.

We loved it so much that it’s now becoming part of the plan: in 2027, this stretch will be included in all our tours connecting Bled and Bohinj.

Less traffic. More nature. More of that feeling you came to Slovenia for. 💚

Starting 12 May 2027, United Airlines will fly nonstop between New York/Newark (EWR) and Ljubljana (LJU) four times a week.

That means less time changing airports and more time exploring Slovenia by bike. 🚲
