When touring the middle section of the Soca Valley, close to the town of Kanal, we noticed a sign 'Avče'.
We said 'Why not?' and soon we walked around a quaint little village. We even discovered the first confirmed meteorite in the area of Slovenia fell near there back in the 1908.

Down in the valley there is Hrastovlje village with the 15h century church, Istrian vernacular architecture, plenty of excellent homemade wine, prosciutto, cheese...
