I don’t know what people expect I say when they tell me it’s so expensive in Slovenia and they thought it would be cheaper 🤦🏼‍♀️ I mean imagine you are coming from Germany, the Netherlands, France where salaries are three-four times higher but prices for food and accommodation are almost the same as here? How shall we feel with average salary of 1200 EUR here?

You go traveling, relax, enjoy. Will saving 2€ on b**r make you happier for real? Life is way too short to care about these small things especially if you can already afford traveling across half Europe. Yes, Ljubljana, Bled, the coast is expensive, but this is life.

Enjoy Slovenia and don’t forget to tip at places where service was especially great. People are working thier arses off now during the high season. I know people who literally don’t have a day off now during summer months.

Don’t be greedy, you will save money at home ✨

Will this tiny country ever stop surprising me? Probably never! Masovnek is kind of porridge type of dish made by mixing half a liter of soured milk with one egg and two tablespoons of corn flour. Its prepared by heating four teaspoons of oil in a deep pan, than adding the mixture and stirring continuously for about 10-15 minutes until the fat separates. It is served warm and eaten by dipping bread in it.

Have you ever tried masovnek?

I can honestly say that AS restaurant is in my top 3 favourite restaurants in Ljubljana. Been there so many times and it has never disappointed. The perfect place when you expect high level of food and service, because it’s exactly what you get there. Absolutely love the way they prepare beef tartar in front of you.
