🇸🇮Slovenia is small enough to cross by e-bike and big enough to give you the Alps🏔️, medieval hilltop villages🏰, wine country🍷, WWI history⚔️, turquoise rivers🏞️, and the sea 🌊— all in one trip! 🚴‍♂️

🏔️𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐄-𝐁𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 starts in the hills above Škofja Loka, tracing a historic WWII military road with hidden bunkers still tucked into the forest. From there you're into alpine lake country — Bohinj and Bled — with a legendary descent from the Pokljuka plateau that riders talk about long after they're home. Add in the panoramic ridge roads of the Poljanska Valley - hidden gem of Slovenia, and you're already having the trip of a lifetime.

🍷Then the route rolls into 𝐆𝐨𝐫𝐢š𝐤𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐝𝐚, 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐚'𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧 "𝐓𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐲" — medieval hilltop villages, rolling vineyards, and a wine tasting among 150+ local winemakers, with WWI tunnels at Mount Sabotin and a swim in a natural pool to cool off. And we're only halfway.

🥩The extended version takes you further. Into the 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧, where centuries-old prosciutto and wine traditions meet one of Slovenia's most spectacular viewpoints — a single panorama that stretches from the Adriatic Sea to the Julian Alps.

🌊Then down to the 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭, riding through Koper, Izola and Piran, where the hills finally meet the sea and every climb of the past nine days makes sense.

Not all knives are made equal. This one was born in fire — hand-forged and hammer-struck at Kovačija Krmelj, a family smithy nestled in the hills above Škofja Loka that has kept its coals burning since 1870.
Jože Krmelj is the 7th generation to carry this tradition. Named Slovenia's Craftsman of the Year 2021 and a recipient of the Golden Tendril Award, he sees blacksmithing not as a trade, but as art. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. No mass production. No shortcuts. Just heat, hammer, and 150 years of knowing exactly what you're doing.

Having so much fun with these ladies - the amazing bike rides, the beautiful spring scenery, the delicious food, and of course the cool ladies who allowed me to show them our beautiful hidden gems of Slovenia 💚☺️
