V Spodnji Ponkvici se je odprla prav posebna pravljična destinacija za družine – Dezela zmajev Dragonland, ki jo je zasnoval Uroš Kolar. Tu domujejo ljubki in igrivi zmaji, ki bodo navdušili najmlajše in očarali vse generacije. Dobro, če, ne boste našli skrivnostne besede v tej “sobi pobega v naravi”, se zna zgoditi, da ne bo vse tako lepo in … Ob tematskem parku je tudi prijetna kavarna, kjer se lahko sprostite in uživate v domačih dobrotah ali pa se pripravite na ponovni sprehod, če ste bili prvič z nalogo neuspešni.

Easter in Obsotelje and Kozjansko is not complete without a slice of mlinčna potica – a true gem of Slovenian culinary heritage!

This Easter cake comes from Lemberg pri Šmarju, a charming Slovenian village with just 200 residents. Unique to this region, mlinčna potica is a rich and festive rolled cake wrapped in a soft yeasted dough with a generous filling of eggs and walnuts. What makes it truly special? It’s baked only for Easter!

The traditional recipe passed down through generations of the Lorenčak family includes an astonishing 40 eggs in the filling—a reflection of big family gatherings and heartfelt celebrations. The recipe originates from Anika Lorenčak, who learned it from her mother, Cecilija Svetelšek. It is believed that Cecilia herself learned it from the cooks who once worked in the villa of peace Nobelist Bertha von Suttner (1843–1914).

Thanks to Anika’s daughter, Marja Kiker Lorenčak, this beautiful tradition has been officially recognised in the Slovenian Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The mlinčna potica in the photo was made by one of the younger members of the family—proof that this tradition continues to inspire and connect generations. It’s a delicious reminder of how important it is to keep local heritage alive in Lemberg and across all destinations that cherish cultural identity.

Alongside the potica, no Easter in Slovenia is complete without pirhi—brightly coloured Easter eggs lovingly dyed with natural materials and traditional techniques. Each egg is a small piece of art, symbolising new life, spring, and joy.

Let this Easter be filled with the warmth of family, the taste of tradition, and the vibrant spirit of our region.
