We have just concluded the whale safari season and are now heading home for two months of rest and maintenance. After that, we will be ready for the upcoming sea eagle safari season, running from mid-April to mid-October 2026.

Thank you to everyone who joined us during this whale safari season. We are already looking forward to welcoming you back to Skjervøy for the next whale safari season, starting on October 20, 2026.

Reaching for the Sun

A beautiful couple of walruses were resting on the ice on a sunny day on Svalbard. Jumping in and out of the water, watching out on the ice. Probably enjoying the sun beams in the cold arctic.

The arctic fox is a sneaky and elusive little one and they do like to bully the reindeers a bit sometimes. Here a couple of reindeers were sleeping and resting, but the fox clearly thought they were too lazy. He managed to get up several of them before running off, reindeers just getting back to eat.

Yesterday late night the polar foxes showed incredible playfulness and the light was just stunning and perfect. There was a lot of action, rolling in the snow, barking, digging after food, jumping and a cute couple playing together. Thanks to all our incredible guests joining See & Explore trip for this late night hour trip -- it was a pleasure having you on tour and hope seeing you all again here on Svalbard!

Great shot by our photoguide Pernille Lous Photography, on our Wildlife tour!

Many people think full Sun is the more desirable conditions to photograph in, but when you are photographing in snow the Sun rays can become very harsh reflecting on the white snow. Instead whiteouts and storms can create some beautiful photos. The wildlife often tug themselves into the snow in windy conditions and at today we were feeling the first strong winds of tonight's stormy weather, making the reindeers snug up with beautiful gust flying all around on the ground.
