**Did you know that Bratislava Castle was once home to the favorite daughter of Empress Maria Theresa? 👑**

Maria Christina was the beloved daughter of the famous Habsburg ruler. She was even born on the same day as her mother—**13 May**.

Unlike her 15 siblings, Maria Christina was the only child of Maria Theresa who was allowed to marry for love. Her husband, **Albert of Saxony**, served as Governor of the Kingdom of Hungary and lived with her at Bratislava Castle, where Maria Theresa frequently came to visit.

Albert was also a passionate art collector. He began building his remarkable collection while living in Bratislava, and it later became the foundation of the world-famous **Albertina Museum** in Vienna, which still bears his name.

A visit to Bratislava Castle isn't just about stunning views—it's also a journey into the fascinating lives of the Habsburgs.

Did you know that the famous Empress Maria Theresa was crowned Queen of Hungary at St. Martin’s Cathedral, Bratislava in Bratislava?
The connection between Bratislava and Maria Theresa goes even further. She often visited Bratislava, where her daughter Maria Christina spent time at Bratislava Castle.
