Senegal's Energy Sector Soars - April 2025 🌍
In April 2025, Senegal has recorded outstanding performance in the energy sector, further strengthening its position in the global energy market.
1️⃣ The Sangomar oil field continues its upward trend with four export shipments (SAN027 to SAN030), totaling 3.8 million barrels of crude oil. This is in line with the annual forecast of 30.53 million barrels.
2️⃣ The GTA gas project reached a historic milestone by exporting its first LNG cargo (163,259 m³, or 3.71 million MMBtu) on April 15, 2025. This positions Senegal and Mauritania as emerging key players in the global liquefied natural gas market.
3️⃣ At the Gadiaga site, 548,078 Nm³ of natural gas was sold in the first quarter of 2025, with 219,809 Nm³ in April alone. These figures reflect the steady and ongoing growth of national production.
These results reinforce Senegal's energy emergence strategy and highlight its growing role as a leader in the oil and gas sector in Africa and beyond.
