For instance, MSF flight coordinators have arranged urgent medical evacuations, including life-saving caesarean sections in remote areas . It’s critically important due to Country’s unique aviation challenges and the vital role air transport plays in its soico- economic and humanitarian operation.
1) NAVIGATION CHALLENGING AVIATION INFRASTRUCTURE:
- South Sudan aviation infrastructure is underdeveloped with only 16 paved airstrip out of 101, and Many remote regions accessible only by light aircraft.
Role of flight dispatcher are essential for planning safe route, accounting for gravel runway, seasonal flood, and limited fuel availability.
They ensure compliance with safety protocols despite low adherence to international standards.
Mitigating risk like poor air traffic control and bush-surrounding airstrip.
Dispatcher must calculate fuel requirement meticulously, considering unpredictable weather and logistical constraints.
