Just in from Salt Cay Divers: Whales Whales, right in front of Coral Reef Bar and Grill. Several people in for a day trip, plus two new guests on island. They all came to get something to eat, then big blow!!! Next some tail action and more blows. Must have been about four of them. First whale sighted in front of Salt Cay this year. Let your friends know they are here! Still plenty of time to book your tirp to Salt cay and be a part of our research project of snorkeling with the Humpbacks with Salt Cay Divers

Whale Watching Season is coming to Salt Cay...come to the Humpback Highway that runs right smack down the western shore of Salt Cay. Being in the water with a whale, such as you see here, is an unforgettable experience. Whale season starts soon, and what better way to get out of the cold than to come to the Caribbean? One of the great things about Salt Cay is getting to know your neighbors, whether they are new friends, or folks you've grown to love over the years. This is Mrs. Rosalie Glinton, know as Miss Rosalie or Miss Rosie. She is our island organist, keyboard player and queen of the swing. Her laugh is infectious; her dance steps crisp and her sisters and her together are a hoot. Miss Rosalie has been honored by Queen Elizabeth for her service as a musician. On Sunday, you can find Miss Rosalie at one of Salt Cay's many churches, usually the church who has the minister on island, or at St. John's Anglican Church. Here she is seated at the old St. John's organ, which was put out near the beach when the new one arrived. For her portrait sitting, Miss Rosalie kindly "played" the old organ complete with the sea pine needles, at sunset. I love this portrait, as I truly do love Miss Rosalie. She is an island treasure. Come down and meet her.

Salt Cay Divers offers scuba diving, lessons, snorkeling, whale watching and day trips to Great Sand Cay, Gibbs Cay and now, exclusively, Cotton Cay. Cotton Cay is an historic island with ruins, great floral and fauna and snorkeling. I can't wait to go in December!

Are you already tired of winter? Then come to Salt Cay and dare to winter differently. Relax, recharge, get tan, go diving, take a nap, go snorkel, party at the Coral Reef singing kareoke with Pappa Newt, go barefoot, take a nap, read a book, listen to rock and roll on the stereo system....or just do nothing at all. Pictured here is an old "salt raker" called the Been Home. They were cobbled together each time the owner had materials to use, thus the different colors and materials. Explore Salt Cay for such historic old homes, meet the people who lived there and can tell you the history.
