It's your first time in Antigua & Barbuda, you say? Here are a few places locals and returning visitors usually end up at sooner or later.

If you arrive on a Sunday or Thrusday make sure to stop by Shirley Heights Lookout for an extended evening of music, grilled food, and views stretching across English Harbour as the sun starts dropping below the horizon.

A walk through Nelson’s Dockyard, where centuries of Caribbean naval history still sit right along the waterfront in English Harbour.

And if you have the time, a trip across to Barbuda is worth it for the pink sand beaches and the Frigate Bird Sanctuary tucked away in Codrington Lagoon.

Different experiences, different pace, all part of OUR Caribbean.

Nature Isle things!

The s***m whales probably already know Dominica is one of the few Caribbean islands where nature still feels deeply protected and connected to everyday life.

This is one of the few territories in the region where these massive marine mammals can be seen year-round along the coastline, especially off Dominica’s west coast where boat tours often spot them surfacing, diving, and moving through the deep waters surrounding the island — sometimes even alongside their calves.

Just another reminder that every island across OUR Caribbean carries its own completely different experience.

You want to know what we genuinely think Caribbean dads miss most after a long vacation away from home?

We strongly suspect it’s the regular operations waiting back home — the car, the yard, the fridge, the neighbourhood surveillance duties, and making sure everything still running exactly as it should.

Happy Father’s Day to all the Caribbean dads holding down operations across OUR Caribbean.

Now tell us honestly…what do YOU think your Caribbean dad misses most when he travels?

Lucian Carnival has grown into one of the Caribbean’s most anticipated summer celebrations not just for the spectacle, but for the energy that follows it from beginning to end.

For many, it’s not just a trip. It’s the one time every year the entire crew links up again to have a time.

The distinct Lucian Dennery Segment rhythms taking over speakers across the island. Costumes, fetes, paint, powder, and thousands of people building a vibe toward two days of pure enjoyment in the streets.

There’s a certain kind of energy in Georgetown that you notice almost immediately.

Around Stabroek Market especially — the movement of people, vendors calling out from stalls, taxis moving through the streets, roadside conversations happening from corner to corner, and the familiar sight of the Stabroek Market clock tower watching over it all from the centre of the city.

Because beyond the buildings and busy roads, it’s always the people that give a place its rhythm.

One of the most underrated aspects of travelling around OUR Caribbean is sightseeing the different coastlines.

It’s often the first thing you see through the plane window before touchdown. It’s what catches your eye while driving around an island for the very first time.

The turquoise bays of Antigua. The dramatic Pitons rising from the sea in Saint Lucia. Jamaica’s rugged and rough north coast. Cuba’s seemingly endless shoreline and the cliffs and hidden coves of Tortola. Every island paints the blue of OUR Caribbean coast a little differently. It’s time you rediscover it.

Caribbean family trips always end up being remembered for the small, extraordinary moments.

Not necessarily the airport or even the hotel. But the random little experiences everyone remembers years later.

Like the entire vehicle suddenly leaning to one side in Grenada because the kids spot monkeys for the the first time while driving through Grand Etang.

Or the family going completely quiet for once while the tram disappears deeper into the darkness of Harrison’s Cave in Barbados. Everybody in awe of the waterfalls underground.

Somewhere along the way, you hop on a train ride in St. Kitts. “Just a quick little tour” and the whole family goes from snapping at each other to snapping photos of the amazing coastline backdrop for the entire journey.

And if you’re in Jamaica, there’s a very good chance you’re ending the day at Devon House I-Scream trying to decide which flavour is best and which one to try next.

Different islands. Different little traditions. Same Caribbean summer memories that last a lifetime. Visit interCaribbean.com or contact your preferred travel agent.
