FROM MARRAKECH TO BIJAGOS ARCHIPELAGO
🛻 Morocco and the Western Sahara Province, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Bijagos Archipelago --> 31 days of pure discovery!

It all begins in , a vibrant city where ancient caravan trails once converged and today’s rhythms still echo those distant journeys. From this lively heart, we venture south, into the raw immensity of the Western Sahara, where nomadic camel herders trace ancestral paths across an endless horizon. We travel along the shimmering beaches of Rio de Oro, where the ocean, at high tide, steals into the desert, transforming dunes and rocky hills into fleeting islands.

Then, across the open canvas of the - the largest desert on Earth - we navigate untouched seas of golden dunes, discover hidden oases, and stumble upon forgotten medieval stone fortresses that still whisper stories of a time long past. Reaching Africa’s far western edge, where land gives way to the infinite Atlantic, we meet salt diggers and the lively fishing communities whose shores are bright with thousands of painted pirogues. 👺GELEDE: SACRED RITUALS IN MOTION

Gelede is also considered the daughter of Ougun, the god of iron and one of the principal figures in the Voodoo tradition of southern . 🌾 is one of main ingredients of the stable diet in West Africa. In August, the population of Central Regions of Benin gather around notables and kings to celebrate a ritual of continuity. Sharing a meal of the newly harvested tubers carries a dual significance.
