Unnecessary hate and aggression are not going to help elephant conservation.

Our contribution to save an abandoned wild baby elephant Kanya who was 2 months ago found weak and dehydrated and we knew that without mother elephant breastfeeding she will not going to make it.

เป็นกำลังใจให้ทีมสัตวแพทย์ในด้านการรักษา และขอเป็นกำลังใจให้ผู้พิทักษ์ป่าทุกท่านที่ต้องทำงานกับช้างนะคะ

‘จากใจถึงกรณีพลายน้องเดือน’

👨🏻‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️ในฐานะหนึ่งในทีมงานสัตวแพทย์ที่ถูกติดต่อให้เข้าไปช่วยรักษาพลายน้องเดือน 🐘 ช้างป่าพลัดหลงฝูงที่มีอาการบาดเจ็บที่สองขาหลัง

แน่นอนว่า ในใจสัตวแพทย์เกือบทุกท่าน คงมีสองเสียงตีกันอยู่ในใจ เนื่องจากครูบาอาจารย์คอยพร่ำสอนมาตลอดว่า การบาดเจ็บของสัตว์ป่าควรปล่อยให้เป็นไปตามวัฎจักร และควรมีมนุษย์เข้าไปยุ่งเกี่ยวให้น้อยที่สุด … แต่ถึงกระนั้น ก็จะยังมีอีกเสียงคอยแย้งขึ้นมาว่า แล้วจะปล่อยให้สัตว์บาดเจ็บและทรมานอยู่อย่างนั้นหรือ? ดังนั้นเมื่อได้รับการติดต่อจากกรมอุทยานฯ เราเลยได้รวบรวมทีมงานจากหลากหลายหน่วยงาน ร่วมเข้าช่วยเหลือค่ะ

💉แผนการรักษาน้องเดือน ได้รับการประชุมจากหลายภาคส่วน จนลงความเห็นร่วมกันว่า การใส่เฝือกน่าจะเป็นวิธีที่เหมาะสมที่สุดในขณะนั้น ถึงแม้ว่าการใส่เฝือกครั้งแรกจะผ่านไปอย่างราบรื่น .. แต่เรากลับพบปัญหาในระบบทางเดินอาหารเกิดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง เป็นๆหายๆตลอดเวลา ซึ่งคุณหมอต้องทำการปรับและแก้ไขกันแบบรายวัน (ในส่วนนี้ขอไม่ลงรายละเอียด เนื่องจากไม่ได้อยู่หน้างานนะคะ)

📆 จนถึงวันที่ทีมงานนัดหมายกันไปเปลี่ยนเฝือกอีกครั้ง เนื่องจากได้รับรายงานว่าเฝือกหลวม (ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องปกติ เนื่องจากกล้ามเนื้อบวมลดลง เฝือกจะหลวมและต้องมีการเปลี่ยนเฝือกอยู่แล้ว) .. เราเตรียมอุปกรณ์และทีมงานล่วงหน้ากันอยู่หลายวัน จนได้รับการแจ้งว่าพลายเดือนอาการทรุดลงอย่างรวดเร็ว จากภาวะท้องเสียอย่างหนัก และน้องก็จากไปในคืนก่อนวันนัดหมาย 💔

การรักษาสัตว์ป่าเป็นงานที่ยากค่ะ ด้วยความที่สัตว์มีความเครียดได้ง่ายจากการจับ การอยู่ในสถานที่ที่ไม่คุ้นชิน รวมถึงภาวะบาดเจ็บเดิมที่มีก่อนหน้า ดังนั้นอย่าแปลกใจเลยค่ะที่อัตราการตายจะมากกว่าอัตราการรอด .. แต่สิ่งที่หมอๆทุกคนพยายามทำกันอยู่ตอนนี้ คือ การพยายามเพิ่มอัตราการรอดเหล่านี้นี่แหละค่ะ เราทำถึงแม้จะรู้ว่าโอกาสการรอดจะน้อยนิดก็ตาม . .

การรักษาสัตว์แต่ละตัว เป็นทั้งศาสตร์และศิลป์ แนวทางการรักษาของหมอแต่ละท่านอาจจะไม่เหมือนกัน ขอเพียงให้แนวทางการรักษาถูกต้องตามหลักวิชาการ ถึงแม้จะคิดไม่เหมือนกันแต่เราก็จะยอมรับกันได้ค่ะ .. ถึงกระนั้น ขอให้เชื่อเถอะค่ะว่า ไม่มีหมอคนไหนอยากเห็นคนไข้ของตนตายลงหรอกค่ะ

🙏🏻 โพสนี้ไม่ได้มุ่งหวังจะแก้ต่างหรือแก้ตัวแต่อย่างใด เพียงแค่อยากบอกกล่าวถึงขั้นตอน วิธีการทำงาน และสิ่งที่คุณหมอทุกท่านต้องเผชิญ

ทางทีม เป็นเพียงหน่วยสนับสนุน .. กลุ่มบุคคลที่ทำงานอย่างหนักและทุ่มเทมาตลอด คือ ทีมงานจากกรมอุทยานฯ ทุกท่าน … ถึงแม้ว่าครั้งนี้เราจะไม่สามารถช่วยชีวิตน้องเดือนไว้ได้ แต่อยากจะขอส่งกำลังใจให้คนทำงานทุกท่านให้ก้าวเดินต่อไปข้างหน้า สู้ต่อไปเพื่อสัตว์ป่าไทยกันนะคะ #เราจะช่วยช้างและสัตว์ป่าไปด้วยกัน

After the long and challenging 22-month gestation period, Mae Bue Laa has finally given birth to a healthy and beautiful baby boy on Nov 5 at 21:40 pm

The arrival of a baby boy not only represents another addition to the endangered Asian elephant population, but it also brings hope for the future for these magnificent creatures. It’s important to remember the vital efforts of elephant conservation and the impact it has on the survival of this endangered animal.

Each arrival of a baby elephant brings joy and hope to the Patara Elephant Conservation (PEC). It represents a step forward in the continual effort to protect and preserve these magnificent creatures.

In the upcoming section, we will explore the first moments shared between Mae Bue Laa and her precious son, shedding light on the beginnings of their unique and heartwarming bond. Stay tuned for this heartwarming journey filled with love, resilience, and hope.

Birthday update.The teenager and a first time mum to be, BueLa ( rice leaf)
is in her labor stage. The signs show today by refusing the feed, walk so slowly and the p**p balls gotten smaller and up until now the mucus plug keep dripping. Patara crews are on site for her birthday and your positive energy sent is appropriated
