agement by Youth and Elderly Tour Guides” is funded by the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI). The project aims to develop model youth and elderly tour guides who can confidently communicate in English and effectively use online media to promote local tourism—creating careers, income, and sustainability for their communities. Jakkrapong Thongpai, with Ms.Kanokwan Wongthong and Ms.Phatthanan Sujaritchan from the Business English Program, and Mr.Burin Sirinet from the Hotel and Lodging Business Program, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University. The project is conducted in Na Pho Klang Subdistrict, Khong Chiam District, a prominent tourism area rich in natural and cultural heritage—such as Pha Taem National Park, Pha Chanadai, Sao Chaliang, and Saeng Chan Waterfall—along with local OTOP products like naturally dyed cotton and the “Heet Sib Song” tradition. The workshop focuses on improving English communication skills for tourism, multimedia production, and the use of social media for destination promotion. Following intensive training, participants will engage in field practice and reflective learning to enhance community-based tourism. The training and follow-up sessions will continue in the next phase to strengthen skills and develop local tour guide role models, in line with the university’s mission for sustainable community development.
