It was great to get half of the crew together IRL today for and .for.resilience’s Monster EST Challenge to raise funds for .au .

Working through the planning for our Father Son event has been an eye-opening experience. Hearing the stories of active advocates in the space, and seeing the stats in black and white, has really solidified that men’s mental health isn’t a gender issue; it’s a societal issue.

Globally, each year, approximately:

• 720,000 people lose their life to su***de; 75% of them are men
• 63% of young men regularly engage with harmful online content around masculinity, increasing isolation and radicalisation
• 51,100 women and girls are killed by an intimate partner

Standing before the graceful Guanyin at Wat Plai Laem: she’s no ordinary Buddha statue. With 18 arms, each holding a unique symbol, she represents compassion in action, drawn from Chinese Buddhist tradition.

Temples like this aren’t just places of worship or photo opportunities; they’re safe spaces for everyone. Locals, travellers, even stray animals find shelter, food, and kindness here. The monks feed whoever is hungry, human or otherwise, and it’s part of what makes Thai spirituality so deeply humane.

At , we teach our guests how to enter respectfully, interact with monks, and why small gestures (like removing shoes or dressing modestly) matter. It’s not just etiquette, its connection, it’s the difference between a mass tourist experience and really getting to know the community.

Every time I talk with I walk away feeling like the next generations have got this. They are going to break the cycle.

Brayden embodies what we’re trying to achieve with this event. It’s not about calling out problems; it’s about opening up the conversations we didn’t even realise we needed to have.

We’re all busy, no one more so than parents of teenagers and it’s easy to miss how something meant to be encouraging or supportive might actually feel like pressure.

A lot of people will see this as an event designed to ‘fix’ kids, but honestly, I think it goes both ways. This next generation is more emotionally aware and engaged than we often give them credit for, if we make space, they can teach us as much as we can teach them.

We’ve spent a lot of time listening, talking, and shaping what this event should be, and we’re proud to introduce the facilitators who will help bring it to life.

Father Son 2026 is a 7-day, purpose driven experience in Koh Samui, Thailand. Together, fathers or guardians and young men (12 – 18) will explore communication, mental health, cyber safety, intergenerational communication, and positive masculinity.

But we won’t just be sitting in a room talking about it, we’ll dive into these conversations through martial arts, volunteering, and adventure. Because sometimes challenging topics can feel lighter and land easier when paired with fun (or Sanuk as it’s called in Thailand).

This is a first program of its kind, that we hope to continue on a regular basis and we believe the facilitator team and our advisory board at creates the perfect balance of experience, perspective, and heart.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more about the people working behind the scenes — our board, facilitators, charity partners, and the broader team, as well as deeper insights into the program.
