🌿 The Same Place, A Different Season
Do you see the difference in these two pictures? 👀
The rice fields around Doi Inthanon slowly change as the farming season moves along. From the first stages of preparing the fields and planting, little green shoots begin to appear across the terraces.

As the weeks pass, the young rice grows taller and fuller. By around September, the terraces can become beautifully green, covering the mountainside like a soft green blanket. 🌾💚
And this is what makes visiting during the rainy season so special. The landscape is always changing, even though the place stays the same.

Later in the season, the green slowly gives way to golden fields as the rice ripens and harvest time approaches. 🌾✨
The rice fields are not simply a view to enjoy. They are a living part of the mountain community, growing and changing with the seasons. 🤍

The rice fields at Mae Klang Luang Village are slowly turning golden. 🌾

Soon, the terraces will be fully golden, a beautiful sign that the harvest season is approaching.

For local families, rice is more than just a crop. These fields are part of their everyday life, providing food and supporting their families throughout the year.

If Ang Ka is the "heart" that creates the water, the Pha Dok Siew nature trail is the "main artery". This trail carries fresh, mineral rich water down to feed the lower forest💦. It takes you along the lush, misty water to see amazing nature and the destination of this main artery. Along the way, these pure streams sustain the lives of many animals living around the waterfall.🦋

Further down lies Ban Mae Klang Luang, where you can see how this water directly supports the local community. If the waterfall dried up, their famous terraced rice fields and organic coffee farms would disappear. This water gives the Paganyaw (Karen) people food security and a steady income all year round, beautifully showing how nature and the local community sustain each other. ☕
