13 องค์กรเอกชนอันดามัน เสนอรัฐทบทวนมาตรการวีซ่าอินเดีย รักษาขีดความสามารถการแข่งขันการท่องเที่ยวไทย
สมาคมโรงแรมไทยภาคใต้ ร่วมกับ 12 องค์กรภาคเอกชนด้านการท่องเที่ยวและเศรษฐกิจในพื้นที่อันดามัน จังหวัดภูเก็ต กระบี่ และพังงา ยื่นหนังสือต่อรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา และผู้ว่าการการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย (ททท.) เพื่อเสนอให้รัฐบาลพิจารณาทบทวนมาตรการด้านวีซ่าสำหรับนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอินเดีย หลังคณะรัฐมนตรีมีมติเห็นชอบการปรับปรุงมาตรการยกเว้นการตรวจลงตรา โดยภาคเอกชนกังวลว่าอาจส่งผลกระทบต่อความสามารถในการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวไทย โดยเฉพาะตลาดนักท่องเที่ยวคุณภาพ กลุ่มประชุมสัมมนา (MICE) และตลาดงานแต่งงานปลายทาง (Destination Wedding) จากประเทศอินเดีย
ภาคเอกชนระบุว่าแม้จะเห็นด้วยกับแนวทางของรัฐบาลในการจัดระเบียบการใช้สิทธิยกเว้นวีซ่าเพื่อป้องกันการนำไปใช้ในวัตถุประสงค์อื่นที่ไม่ใช่การท่องเที่ยว แต่ยังมีความกังวลต่อภาระค่าใช้จ่ายจากค่าธรรมเนียม Visa on Arrival ในอัตรา 2,000 บาทต่อคน ซึ่งอาจเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญที่ทำให้นักท่องเที่ยวและผู้จัดงานเลือกเปลี่ยนจุดหมายปลายทางไปยังประเทศคู่แข่งในภูมิภาค
ทั้งนี้ ตลาดนักท่องเที่ยวอินเดียถือเป็นหนึ่งในตลาดศักยภาพสูงของประเทศไทย โดยมีจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องจาก 2.2 ล้านคนในปี 2567 เป็นกว่า 2.5 ล้านคนในปี 2568 และคาดว่าจะทะลุ 3 ล้านคนในปี 2569 ขณะที่จังหวัดกระบี่ พังงา และภูเก็ต เป็นจุดหมายปลายทางสำคัญของการจัดงานแต่งงานจากอินเดีย ซึ่งสร้างรายได้มหาศาลให้แก่ธุรกิจโรงแรม ร้านอาหาร สปา โรงพยาบาล และผู้ประกอบการในท้องถิ่น
ภาคเอกชนจึงเสนอให้รัฐบาลพิจารณามาตรการเร่งด่วน ได้แก่ การยกเว้นวีซ่าสำหรับนักท่องเที่ยวอินเดีย การยกเว้นค่าธรรมเนียม Visa on Arrival การตั้งช่องทางพิเศษสำหรับ Group Wedding Visa และการเร่งเจรจาข้อตกลงยกเว้นวีซ่าระหว่างไทยและอินเดีย เพื่อรักษาความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศไทยในตลาดการท่องเที่ยวระหว่างประเทศ
ผู้แทนภาคเอกชนยืนยันความพร้อมในการร่วมมือกับภาครัฐ เพื่อหาทางออกที่สมดุลระหว่างการรักษาความมั่นคงของประเทศและการส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยว ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในเครื่องยนต์หลักของเศรษฐกิจภาคใต้และของประเทศโดยรวม

13 Andaman Private Sector Organizations Call for Review of India Visa Measures to Maintain Thailand’s Tourism Competitiveness
The Thai Hotels Association Southern Chapter, together with 12 tourism and business organizations from the Andaman region covering Phuket, Krabi, and Phang Nga, has submitted a formal letter to the Minister of Tourism and Sports and the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), urging the government to reconsider visa measures affecting Indian travelers.
The private sector’s request follows the Cabinet’s approval of revisions to Thailand’s visa exemption policy. Industry stakeholders are concerned that the changes could negatively impact Thailand’s competitiveness in the tourism sector, particularly within the high-value Indian market, including the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) segment and the Destination Wedding market.
While the private sector supports the government’s efforts to regulate visa exemption privileges and prevent misuse for non-tourism purposes, concerns remain regarding the financial burden of the Visa on Arrival (VoA) fee of THB 2,000 per person. Industry representatives believe this additional cost could influence travelers and event organizers to choose competing destinations within the region.
India remains one of Thailand’s most promising tourism markets, with visitor arrivals increasing steadily from 2.2 million in 2024 to more than 2.5 million in 2025, and projected to exceed 3 million in 2026. At the same time, Krabi, Phang Nga, and Phuket have become leading destinations for Indian weddings, generating significant economic benefits for hotels, restaurants, spas, healthcare providers, and local businesses.
The private sector has therefore proposed several urgent measures, including maintaining visa-free entry for Indian tourists, waiving Visa on Arrival fees, establishing a dedicated Group Wedding Visa facilitation channel, and accelerating negotiations toward a reciprocal visa exemption agreement between Thailand and India. These measures are considered essential to preserving Thailand’s competitiveness in the international tourism market.
Representatives of the private sector reaffirmed their readiness to work closely with the government in finding a balanced solution that safeguards national security while supporting the sustainable growth of the tourism industry, one of the key drivers of Southern Thailand’s economy and the country as a whole.
