MahaNakhon CulturX Series: Khan Long Hin in Focus

One of the previous owners of a khan long hin shop in Bangkok Noi was Khun Jiam. She belonged to the sixth generation of families who moved from Ayutthaya and eventually settled in Bangkok Noi’s Ban Bu community. K. Jiam brought with her workers from Ayutthaya. The skills of these workers were said to have been passed on from one generation to another, originating from the Ayutthaya period (1351-1767). These skills, however, are now slowly disappearing because none of the workers' descendants would like to do this kind of job any more.
