“More Bitter = Stronger Alcohol?”
Do you think that’s really true? 🍺
Many people assume that the more bitter a beer tastes, the higher its alcohol content must be.
But in reality, bitterness and alcohol strength are not always connected.
Bitterness comes primarily from Hops — one of the key ingredients that adds aroma, character, and complexity to beer.
Alcohol, on the other hand, is created during fermentation, when yeast naturally converts sugars from malt into alcohol.
That’s why some beer styles can have bold hop aromas and noticeable bitterness, yet remain light, refreshing, and easy to drink.
Meanwhile, some smooth and less bitter styles may actually carry a higher alcohol content than expected.
The truth is, a more bitter beer doesn’t necessarily mean a stronger beer.
It’s about balance — the harmony of ingredients, craftsmanship, and recipe design by the Brewmaster.

“ยิ่งขม = ยิ่งแรง” จริงไหม?
หลายคนมักเข้าใจว่าเครื่องดื่มที่มีรสขมมาก
จะต้องมีดีกรีแอลกอฮอล์ที่สูงกว่าเสมอ
แต่ในความเป็นจริงแล้ว “ความขม” และ “ระดับแอลกอฮอล์”
อาจไม่ได้เกี่ยวข้องกันอย่างที่หลายคนคิด
ความขมเกิดจาก Hops ซึ่งเป็นวัตถุดิบสำคัญที่ช่วยสร้างทั้งกลิ่นหอม
และช่วยเพิ่มมิติของรสชาติ
ส่วนระดับแอลกอฮอล์นั้น เกิดจากกระบวนการ Fermentation
เมื่อยีสต์เปลี่ยนน้ำตาลจาก Malt ให้กลายเป็นแอลกอฮอล์ตามธรรมชาติ
จึงทำให้เครื่องดื่มบางสไตล์แม้จะมีกลิ่นและรสของ Hops ที่ชัดเจน
แต่กลับดื่มง่ายและมีระดับแอลกอฮอล์ไม่สูงมาก
ในขณะเดียวกัน บางสไตล์ที่นุ่ม ดื่มง่าย และแทบไม่มีความขม
อาจมีระดับแอลกอฮอล์สูงกว่าที่คิด
หัวใจสำคัญจึงไม่ใช่
“ยิ่งขม = ยิ่งแรง”
แต่คือความสมดุลของวัตถุดิบ รวมถึงการออกแบบรสชาติในแต่ละสูตร
