The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled an ambitious new strategic direction for 2026. Backed by a 4.5-billion-baht budget, the plan signals a major shift in how the country approaches tourism – moving away from a focus on sheer numbers and instead emphasising quality, depth of experience and long-term value.

TAT’s approach also places strong emphasis on Thailand’s soft power – its culture, creativity and heritage.

Asian Trails continues to develop innovative travel experiences aligned with TAT’s vision. To learn more, visit: https://buff.ly/X8XBLis

Gain immersion in a venerable tradition dedicated to the creation of 𝘛𝘳𝘢̀ 𝘚𝘦𝘯 𝘛𝘢̂𝘺 𝘏𝘰̂̀ , otherwise known as West Lake Lotus Tea.

During the summer months, as lotus flowers bloom across Hanoi’s West Lake, this centuries-old ritual comes to life. This delicate practice involves infusing green tea with the natural fragrance of lotus blossoms, resulting in a beverage cherished for its subtle aroma and refined elegance.

To participate, contact Asian Trails Vietnam before the tea-making season ends in mid-August. Private workshops are available for a minimum of 10 guests.

Vietnam is implementing ambitious plans to reduce pollution and modernise urban transport in the major tourism destinations of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In Hanoi, petrol-powered motorbikes will be banned from central areas within Ring Road 1, starting July 1, 2026.

Ho Chi Minh City will introduce 37 new electric bus routes from August 2025 and targets a 100 per cent green-energy bus fleet by 2030.

While these policies may limit access to traditional motorbikes within urban areas, travellers can expect cleaner air, quieter streets and more sustainable transportation options. To learn more, contact Asian Trails Vietnam, or visit: https://buff.ly/Lawvh5a
