As the mourning of Thai peole for the loss of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who reigned for more than 70 years, visitors to the country need to know how to show respect and what impact the situation will have on their trips.
As a sign of mourning, all civil servants have been ordered to wear black clothing for one year while the population of the country will wear black clothing, or white with the symbolic on their clothing for 30 days.
Tourists should also act in a respectful manner, Thais would appreciate it if they wore the symbolic colour and respectful clothing when in public.
All hotels, airports, public transportation, hospitals, banks are operating as usual. Shopping malls, restaurants, most temples, markets and torist attractions are open as normal.
Nightlife turned down, all events, all night-beach parties includes the Full Moon Party are canceled, the beaches will be open for the tourists to enjoy as usual but there will be no parties on the beach. The restaurants and small bars in Bangkok will remain open and continue to serve alcohol but they have to close before midnight, and to keep their music low.
