🐻 Meet the Sun Bear – The Smallest Bear in the World!
The Sun Bear (Helarctos malayanus) is the smallest species of bear, native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia.
In Thailand, it’s called “Mee-Mah” literally “Dog Bear” because of its dog-like snout and playful behavior.
You might not see them often, as they are shy and mostly nocturnal, spending much of their time climbing trees in search of honey, fruits, and insects. Their love for honey has even earned them the nickname “Honey Bear.”
When visiting nature, take only memories and photos, leave nothing behind. Let’s help protect Kaeng Krachan, Thailand’s largest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so that the Mee-Mah, the forests, and the misty mountains can stay beautiful forever.
