The Geoinformatics Center AIT team visited Bangbua canal situated in Bangkok to measure surface water velocity on 8 April 2026.

The aim of this survey was to generate surface water velocity data to support analysis of plastic transport and accumulation patterns, helping identify areas in the Bangbua canal where plastic debris is most likely to concentrate. The surface water velocity was measured using specialized flow-tracking instruments and spatial positioning data was also collected simultaneously.
