This is a Khlong (or canal) they run all across Bangkok. However this one near Sukhumvit 50 is special. As the city urbanized so rapidly (30 years ago a lot of modern BK was agricultural land) pollution became a problem. The khlongs got dirty. However in the last few years there has been a real environmental effort to clean things up...this is a stunning example. Clear water, stunning Thai irises, birds and insects...Nature as it was meant to be. Great progress Bangkok, keep it up.
