What a week to be in the high central Andes! From Portillo to Las Leñas and here in Farellones, Chile, conditions are absolutely stellar.

August 17- Day 2 of our guided Chile All Mountain tour and I don’t think anyone is regretting that overnight flight escaping the heatwave.

The snow is back for Valle Nevado Ski Resort in Chile this weekend with several feet of ❄️ in the forecast by Monday.

Marte Chairlift opened today after weeks of snow and weather delays. August 11, 2026.

An incredible part of Las Lenas ski resort culture is the Marte chairlift, servicing terrain that has become a mecca for extreme skiing and snowboarding. From the steep bowl directly under the Marte chair, to Eduardo’s 48-degree Couloir, and literally hundreds of chutes 40-50 degree plus, some people have said they would give up every chairlift in South America for Marte!

Finally! The road to Portillo Ski Resort is open…

After 3+ weeks of closure and only a few days of 🚁 in/out access, August 8-9, 2026 the road is open exclusively to hotel guests with reservations.

Sorry amigos, if you want to drive up the road to build a snowman, the authorities won’t let you up.

While it’s been fun to watch the record breaking storms drop 23 feet of snow, we are thrilled to finally get our guests this week up to one of the most unique ski areas on Earth. ❤️

Thrilled for Ski Portillo , their guests, employees and tourism as a whole for the area.

For the lucky few who made it up there earlier in the week, it looks like conditions were all time.

What an unbelievable turnaround for Patagonia, Argentina.

17 days ago, Cerro Catedral ski resort above Bariloche was literally brown from top to bottom. Only a few beginner runs with man made snow were operating.

As forecasted, the storm cycles moved in and temperatures dropped on July 21st. It’s been nearly non-stop since with just a few ☀️ breaks for our guided Argentina All Mountain trip guests to take in the views between powder runs.

Today, August 7, 2026 the ❄️ continues. Thanks for waking up early and sending us this clip out of Catedral village.

Our next group arrives tomorrow. 🤞🏼 for a great week ahead.
