Discover the rich history of Wat Sri Suphan and the renowned silversmithing community of Baan Wualai. Under the guidance of skilled local artisans and master craftsmen, participants will learn and practice the traditional Thai techniques of Repoussé and chasing within the sacred grounds of Wat Sri Suphan—a Buddhist sanctuary famous for its stunning silver ordination hall, entirely adorned with intricate hand-hammered silverwork.

Color and Pattern of Lanna Enamel: Enameling Workshop with SINPINTA STUDIO X NOT JUST A THING STUDIO as part of “Jewelry-making and Metalsmithing Workshop Excursion in Chiang Mai, Thailand: Exploring Traditional Craft and Cultural Heritage" With Oops+ and Craft Aboard organized by Taweesak Molsawat

Exploring the history of and making a pair of earrings, brooch and ring with Natthapol Sinprasert and Taweesak Molsawat. This enchanting enameling workshop offers a unique experience combining technique and creativity. Our workshop places a special focus on incorporating vibrant colors and intricate patterns inspired by the rich heritage of Lanna culture, infused with a contemporary twist in reviving this exquisite art form and preserving its legacy.

These series of enameling workshops are consisted of 3 workshops starting from basic to advance enameling techniques: Sifting and Water Color Enamel, Champleve, and Plique-a-Jour

Our farewell dinner featured an authentic Northern Thai experience with Khan T**e, a traditional Lanna-style meal. This unique dining experience offers a personal mini buffet served on beautifully crafted bamboo or wooden trays intended to share as a family dining, presenting a delicious assortment of Northern Thai dishes.

Held at a local restaurant that embraces the rich heritage of Lanna culture, the evening was enhanced by traditional clothing, language, architecture, and captivating Thai performances showcasing the diverse regional cultures of Thailand.

A heartfelt thank you to Gabbi for joining us on this cultural and technical journey!.

Exploring the history of Wat Sri Suphan and Baan Wualai, and practicing traditional Repoussé and chasing at Wat Sri Suphan (Wat is a Buddhist sanctuary) with local metalsmiths and craft masters who have been working and completing the entire a silver chapel covered with Repoussé and chasing work.

Visited Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Jing Jai Market, The Chiang Mai Old Town: Wat Chedi Luang Worawihan, Wat Phan Tao and Wat Phan On.

Chiang Mai, which translates to "new city," has celebrated over 700 years of existence while retaining its historical charm. Founded by King Meng Rai the Great in 1296, it served as the capital of18 the Lanna Kingdom, playing a pivotal role in the development of Buddhism in northern Thailand. The city's historical and modern facets seamlessly blend within its ancient moat-encircled old city, preserving centuries-old chedis and temples alongside contemporary conveniences.
