The Royal New Year's Card.

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has issued a New Year greeting card wishing the best for Thais.

The cover card contains the Chakri Dynasty symbol with the royal initial of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and the king's royal initial.

Inside the card, the upper part features the picture of the late King Bhumibol on the left, and the pictures of His Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit slightly below on the right. The background features blue sky and the field of Dusita flowers - the flowers named by Her Majesty.

The lower part of the card contains His Majesty's new year message which reads: "Greetings for 2019. With love and pure heart, may this year be filled with liveliness, health, happiness, and wisdom. May you have the encouragement and the will to bring happiness to yourself and others throughout the year and ever after."

Below the message are His Majesty's drawings which feature a family watering flowers and washing a car on one side and a family joining a "Do Good Deeds with Hearts" programme on the other. The background features illustrations of Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and the replicas of Suphannahong and Narai Song Suban HM King Rama IX royal barges which are on display at Un Ai Rak Khlai Khwam Nao winter festival at the Royal Plaza.

The card is signed by His Majesty and dated Jan 1, 2019.

‪Beautiful Thailand by Travel Blogger ‬

To promote the beauty of Thailand, we would like to share this one from ‪Joao Cajuda‬, an excellent travel blogger.

The video features many of the tourist attractions visitors can add to their itinerary, when visiting the Kingdom.

Enjoy the splendour of the beaches and clear waters around the coastal areas, where swimming, scuba diving and general frolicking in the water is seen as the norm.

Enjoy the wondrous jungle scenes, featuring treks, wildlife, bathing with elephants, cycling, canoeing and much more.

Visit the illustrious Buddhist temples and places of worship, often featuring gigantic golden statues, which are frequently in idyllic locations, and ideal for photos to send home to the family.

Tree carvings, islands that many will only dream of visiting, street food that is rated as the best in the world or sample the local marketplaces, which are a step back in time, and of course, you can purchase almost anything from fresh food and veg to clothing or gifts to take home with you.

This video is very much aimed at the younger, more adventurous tourist but there is something for everyone in Thailand. It has excitement, danger, thrills and romantic locations for those of you who are outgoing but it also has heavenly beaches, secluded islands, peace and tranquillity for those who simple want to relax, and do nothing more daring than sample the cuisine in a Thai restaurant or sit and watch the world go by with a cold beer in an open-sided bar.

Thailand has it all and is one of those places that must be added to your bucket list, irrespective of age or s*x. Everyone is welcome in Thailand, the "land of smiles", where the people are genuinely friendly.
