If we want to understand the world we’re living in (and actually change it) we need to unlearn a lot of patriarchal mythology about power and “progress.”

Slide 1: -> femicide is not recognized as a distinct criminal offense under German law.

Slide 5: -> „yes means yes“ is not enshrined in German criminal s3xual law

Slide 6: -> a nationwide comprehensive strategy against male violence is not in place.

If you’re unfamiliar with the current situation in Germany: Collien Monica Fernandes was targeted by her now ex-husband who created and distributed deepfake p0rnographic images without her consent. The abuse exposed major legal blind spots around AI-generated s3xual vi0lence and contributed to growing calls for stronger protections against digital vi0lence. To stand in solidarity with her, Kristina Lunz Düzen Tekkal and Ricarda Lang mobilized over 250 prominent women from Germany and created 10 policy demands for the German government which as of now has been signed by 336.598 people.

However, these demands have been met with indifference by our chancellor, who seems to care about women’s lives only when they can be used to justify his immigration policies.

There isn’t a single woman in my life who has made it through womanhood untouched by male vi0lence. As women’s rights regress around the world, we cannot afford to stop pushing for justice.
