The difference between a great Koh Tao trip and a brutal one
starts before the ferry.

Bangkok → Koh Tao is the longest island run from Khaosan.
Get the timing right and it's actually one of the best
nights of sleep you'll have in Thailand.

Real schedule:

🕤 9:30 PM — Khaosan pickup. First Class with electronic massage
seat. Full recline.
🌅 6:00 AM — Pier arrival. Sunrise. Pier fully open. Coffee
ready at café prices, not "trapped tourist" prices.
⛴ 7:00 AM — Ferry boards. You've had breakfast like a normal human.
🤿 8:45 AM — Standing on Koh Tao. Diving school can grab you before 9.

The seat matters more than people think.
11 hours on a regular bus = wrecked.
11 hours on a massage seat with full recline = you actually slept.

Pro tip: window LEFT if you're a sunrise person.
Around Chumphon at 5 AM, the whole coastline lights up.
