It is with Incredible sadness I share to you of the loss of a beautiful friend to all. Tananchai Tan Sithikasorn born 25 October 1961 sadly passed away this morning in hospital surrounded by his loving family. This man whom I first met and became friends with in 2011 on my first of many trips to Thailand. He quickly became a big part of my life as my guide, advisor and friend for our travel Companies Teddy Travel Australia and Teddy travel Thailand. Someone once said to me life is not about the destination, and not so much the journey but it is about those friends we meet along the way. My life has been made richer, from having had Ajarn Tan in it. So many beautiful and funny memories I will have forever. Too many to recount. Thank you my dear friend. I will always love you and be so very thankful I had you in my life. Rest in Peace beautiful man.

LOY KRATHONG FESTIVAL OF LIGHT

Loy Krathong is probably Thailand’s most beautiful and enchanting festival. The word loy (or loi) means to float, whilst krathong are small rafts or baskets. Traditionally made from banana leaves or the bark of a banana tree, the krathongs usually contain a candle, incense and flowers. The person who will be floating the krathong will often take a small clipping of their hair or fingernail which will then be added to the krathong together with some coins. The candle and incense are then lit and a wish is made before the krathong is placed on the nearest stretch of water. It is believed that the krathong carries away bad luck and signals a fresh start.

To our friends and followers,
Our esteemed Guide and Teacher Ajarn Tananchai Tan Sithikasorn has for this last week been in hospital where he has had a triple bypass. Up until yesterday his recovery has been incredible. I am providing an update written by his family.
If you have any belief in a greater being, we would please ask for your prayers as a miracle is needed now.

Update. Tananchai, the latest.
- In the morning, the teacher's condition is normal. Preparing to check the draft before going home tomorrow according to the plan of the medical team.
- After cleaning the body, the teacher fainted again. The medical team had to hurry up to perform cardiac pumping to recover and perform additional balloon surgery for the 2nd time.
- The current condition of the teacher is very worrying. He needs to use a heart transplant, artificial heart, dialysis and lungs.
- The team of doctors and medical practitioners tried to save the teacher's life fully again. It depends on whether the teacher's body can fight on.
- Relatives, I would like to ask for encouragement and prayer from all of you who love and respect the teacher so that there will be a miracle again and I will update you periodically.

This is an amazing story of the Temple Wat Sri Suphan which is also known as the Silver Temple because the entire surface of the temple, inside and out, is being covered in sparkling silver handcrafted decoration. Originally built around 1500 Wat Sri Suphan is also one of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai.

Guide Tananchai Tan would like to show you this beautiful temple and take you to the village where the highly skilled villagers construct the intricate silver work that fills the temple

In Thailand we want to share our history with our visiting guests, and so our guides go to University to learn about the many interesting historical facts regarding our heritage.
Our Guide Tananchai Tan has been for many years a prominent teacher of guide training in Thailand.

The below photos are taken inside the ordination hall of Wat Suandok. The name of the Buddha Image depicted in this picture is Pra Chao Kaow Tera
It is known as the most beautiful Buddha. This is a Bronze Cast. Its weight is 9 tonne. It was cast in 1504-1505. 1 year. The height is 4.7 metres, and span at knee is 3 metres.

It is located in the Chiang Mai Province.

There is a very interesting story surrounding the history of this Buddha and Guide Tan would love to take you there, and tell you the story of its existence.
