Short ride today into town for a visit to the Bridge over the River Kwai and a couple of local museums. On the way back popped into the war grave cemetery for those lost during the building of the railway. Tomorrow a ride east back into Bangkok and return the bikes. That flight home is looming. What a great country for a road trip, hopefully we will be presenting our trip at the Horizons Unlimited HUBB in June (Hay on Wye). Best I get the application sorted 🤣.

As i mentioned in my previous post there may be elephants.
Today we went to the Elephant Haven, a sanctuary for elephants. We gave them bananas then went for a walk through the jungle to the River Kwai. We then went swimming with with elephants all during a monsoon rain shower. What an experience. After some considerable time in the river we walked back and fed them water melon. Truly one of the most amazing things I have done.

To tonight we are lodged in Kanchanaburi about 2 hours from Bangkok. Attached is a few photos from the ride south.
Tomorrow is going to be a special day, all I will say is elephants....
The day after we are visting the Bridge over the River Kwai and the museum's, a special trip to the graveyards.
Back in Bangkok for Wednesday and then come to explore on foot.

So today we have ridden the 105 from Mae Sariang to Mae Sot, 225 km of the best biking roads you can imagine. Mountain twisties and long, fast sweeping bends with only mopeds and cows to keep us company. Many police checkpoints but not even a second glance, we were riding the border road between Thailand and Burma. Burma is on the other side of the river. Heading to Kanchanaburi and the death bridge, might even see some elephant's.

Day on on the road.
Visit to Auytthaya temple complex outside Bangkok.
Ridden north and about a day and half from Chang Mai in the mountains.
It's still hot hot hot.
Note: a crocodile was being roasted last night on the Khosan Road. Didn't stay around to eat it.
