To get to Eidfjord from Oslo, you have several travel options. Eidfjord lies in western Norway, about 320 km (200 miles) west of Oslo, and sits at the inner end of the Hardangerfjord.

🚗 By Car (Self-Drive) — ~5.5 to 6.5 hours

This is the most flexible and scenic option.

Route:
• Take E18 or E16 west from Oslo.
• Connect to RV7 (Route 7) via Hønefoss → through the Hardangervidda mountain plateau → to Eidfjord.
• Stop at Vøringsfossen, Hardangervidda Natursenter, or Geilo on the way.

🛣️ Distance: ~320–350 km
⛽ Note: Route 7 is a national scenic route, especially across Hardangervidda.

🚌🚆 By Public Transport (Train + Bus) — ~8 to 10 hours

1. Train Oslo → Voss or Geilo
• Take a Vy train from Oslo S to Voss (via Bergen line) or Geilo.
• Oslo → Geilo: ~3.5–4 hours
• Oslo → Voss: ~6–7 hours (usually includes a change at Myrdal)

2. Bus Geilo/Voss → Eidfjord
• From Geilo: take a bus via Route 7 across the Hardangervidda.
• From Voss: buses run via Granvin and the Hardangerfjord Bridge to Eidfjord.

You can check timetables at:
• vy.no (for trains)
• skyss.no (for buses in western Norway)
• entur.no (national journey planner)

🕓 Public transit requires some coordination — especially outside summer months.

🚌 By Direct Bus (Summer Only)

In peak summer (June–August), there may be tourist buses or Fjord Tours connections from Oslo to Eidfjord as part of scenic packages. These often include:
• Bus/train via Geilo
• Stopovers at waterfalls and the Hardangervidda

Check:
• Fjordtours.com
• Norwaynutshell.com
✅ Recommendation

If you want:
• Scenic drive and freedom → Rent a car
• Relaxed travel & no driving → Train to Geilo + bus
• Tourist experience → Fjord Tours combo

📍VENICE CANAL ITALY

Venice, Italy is world-famous for its romantic canals, which serve as the main mode of transportation throughout the city. Here are some key points about the Venice canals:

🌊 Overview of the Canals
• City built on water: Venice is built on over 100 small islands in a lagoon of the Adriatic Sea.
• No roads: Instead of streets, there are canals and pedestrian walkways.
• Over 150 canals crisscross the city, linked by 400+ bridges.

🛶 Grand Canal (Canal Grande)
• The main waterway—like Venice’s “main street.”
• Roughly 3.8 km long, S-shaped through the city.
• Lined with historic buildings, palaces, and churches.

🚤 Transportation on the Canals
• Gondolas – traditional flat-bottomed boats, mostly for tourists.
• Vaporetto – public water buses, like floating city buses.
• Water taxis – private and faster (but expensive).
• Traghetto – cheap gondola ferry to cross the Grand Canal.

🏛️ Famous Sites Along the Canals
• Rialto Bridge – iconic and oldest bridge across the Grand Canal.
• St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace near the canal entrances.
• Ca’ d’Oro, Palazzo Grassi, and other palaces.

📸 Best Experience
• Sunset gondola ride for romance.
• Vaporetto Line 1 or 2 for affordable sightseeing.
• Explore smaller canals for hidden beauty and peaceful vibes.

To travel from Milan to the canals of Venice, here’s a detailed guide with the best transport options:

🚆 Option 1: Train (Highly Recommended)
• Direct high-speed trains from Milano Centrale (or Porta Garibaldi) to Venezia Santa Lucia take about 2 hours 15–30 minutes, averaging ~267 km .
• Italo trains can be as fast as 2h 15m, with fares starting around €14.90 if booked early .
• Trenitalia Frecciarossa also runs frequent services (approx. 25–45 trains/day) with tickets typically between €22 and €110, depending on class and advance purchase ().
• Trains leave from Milano Centrale roughly once per hour from early morning (~6 a.m.) until late evening (~11 p.m.) .

Once you arrive at Venezia Santa Lucia, you’re right on the edge of the Grand Canal—just steps from the canals and city life. Many consider this the ideal arrival point since it immerses you in Venice instantly .

🚍 Option 2: Bus (Budget-Friendly)
• Companies like FlixBus, Itabus, and BlaBlaCar Bus operate direct routes from Milano Lampugnano bus station to Venice (Tronchetto or Venice Mestre).
• It takes around 4 hours 10 minutes and costs €12–40 .
• While cheaper, buses arrive outside the historic center, so expect to walk or take a vaporetto (waterbus) to the main areas.

🚗 Option 3: Car or Drive
• Driving takes around 2h 37m over approximately 264 km via Italy’s autostrada .
• Keep in mind: driving in Venice itself isn’t allowed. You’ll need to park at Piazzale Roma then continue on foot or by water taxi.
• Considering parking costs and canal transport restrictions, this option is less convenient for tourists in town ().

✈️ Option 4: Fly
• There are no direct flights between Milan and Venice anymore.
• Available options involve connecting flights via cities like Rome or Munich, total travel time about 3.5–5 hours, and cost €90–370 .
• Given the overhead (airport travel, security), trains remain faster and simpler.

One day, you will meet a person who loves you with so much kindness and respect that it’ll feel almost unfamiliar. They’ll look at you with eyes that see all of you—your flaws, your scars, your stories—and they’ll still choose you, wholeheartedly.

You’ll start to let go of the fear that’s held you back from trusting someone again. The hurt you carried, the doubts you whispered to yourself late at night, and the walls you built to protect your heart will begin to crumble, not because someone forced them down, but because love, in its purest form, doesn’t need to fight for space—it earns it through patience and understanding.

This person will show up in your life when you least expect it, reminding you that the right connection doesn’t drain you; it nourishes you. Their laughter will fill your quiet moments with joy, and their presence will feel like sunlight warming the coldest corners of your soul.

They might not have all the perfect words or grand gestures, but they will love with sincerity. Their tenderness, their willingness to stay when things aren’t easy, and their simple, quiet warmth will make you realize that true love isn’t complicated—it’s safe, it’s gentle, and it makes your heart feel at home.

One day, you’ll meet this kind of love. And when you do, everything will finally make sense.

How I Met My Husband ♥️

My husband and I first crossed paths on a dating site on March 2023. It was one of those unexpected, serendipitous moments that neither of us saw coming but somehow felt destined. Even with the distance between us—me in Oslo for a cultural exchange in Norway and Kristian in Ålesund—we were immediately drawn to each other. What started as casual conversations soon turned into daily messages, shared laughter, and deep conversations that helped us form a strong bond over almost four months before we finally met in person.

Despite our busy schedules and the miles that separated us, we always made time for each other. Every message, every phone call, kept that spark alive. When we finally met face-to-face in Oslo on July 24, 2023, it felt like everything had aligned just for that moment. There was this undeniable comfort, this joy in being together, and it was clear that this was the beginning of something truly special.

For over three months, we continued dating, growing closer with each passing day. Kristian was such a gentleman, taking the time to court me, and eventually, on October 21, 2023, I said 'Yes' to being his girlfriend. It felt right, like we were building something meaningful together.

Then, on March 23, in a moment I'll never forget, Kristian proposed. It was everything I could have hoped for—a culmination of months filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. It felt like the perfect start to the next chapter of our lives, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.
