The Chiang Mai Grand Canyon has been for many years which unseen big water hole in Chiang Mai. This dramatic looking man-made canyon was created when land was quarried to extend the Chiang Mai International Airport runway. Sheer cliffs of up to fifteen metres, off which truanting kids used to enjoy heady afternoons jumping into the azure deep waters which now filled the old quarry. As it became better known and more popular, accidents and deaths have led to frequent headlines, just in the past few years alone, there have been six reported deaths. So, Citylife was highly sceptical when invited by the new Grand Canyon Water Park to review its new facilities.

= Chiangmai – Phayao – Chiangrai

Three days of special and charming, untouched areas and more famous areas, the town of Piau, lake cruises, waterfalls, visiting the tribes, Chiang Rai city, the Golden Triangle, the White Temple and more.

Start the first day at 8:30 am (please wait for a guide in the hotel lobby) * Total travel times 2.5 hours
We would visit the Botanical Gardens, where we would ride the car across the gardens or take a short bike ride,
From there continue to swim in the hot springs in San Kampang (to bring bathing suits!)
We will continue towards the Payhao district. This is Thailand's authentic and hidden ...
On the way we will stop at beautiful waterfalls where we can bathe and climb up the waterfall
And continue to unify the magical places in northern Thailand, a huge lake in the city of Paiu, we will board rowboats and go for a short cruise
Towards the heart of the lake to a special temple built on a small island, then lunch at a local restaurant
We will take a place in the charming resort and go out to dinner together
Overnight at: ChiangKham grand villa hotel

Second day * Total travel times 2.5 hours
In the hotel,
We will visit a huge temple in Burmese style. There are learned explanations from the guides about Buddhism and a unique tradition in northern Thailand,
We will continue towards the famous White Temple and one of the most beautiful in all of Thailand -
We'll tour the place and become a variety of pictures!
On a field trip you will lead us to beautiful waterfalls, where we can bathe (depending on the season) get to the falls in nature,
15 minutes per direction (not hard)
After visiting the waterfalls we will set off towards the village of the tribe of Akka, authentic and experiential, and this is seen only in northern Thailand!
We will spend the night at the Maryo resort in Chang Rai, and how not to ... visit the city's famous night market

Day 3 * Total travel times 3 hours +
And we will continue to visit the village of the long-necked tribe, the daughters of the unique tribe who chose to live in the north of the country and preserve their ancient culture, fascinating and interesting!
The Golden Triangle - Meeting Borders Laos Laos Burma, will be our next point of visit, will cruise on boats on the Mekong River,
One of the largest rivers in the world that millions of people depend on for their livelihood (and from the guides we will learn and understand the story of the "Golden Triangle").
We will cross the bank toward the Lassian side for a short visit and for lunch (and, also, a shortening of imitations ...)
Lunch at a local restaurant, Singh Park will be the next place to visit, one of the most beautiful parks in northern Thailand,
Traveling around the park and even feeding giraffes and zebras
Drive back to Chiang Mai, stop at points of interest as time will allow,

Day1.

Leave the city behind and heading to the Dream Destination , Maehongson and Pai via Doi Inthanon , the highest peak of Thailand. This trip will bring you a pleasure of physical experiencing of the true cultural of Thailand , mode of living of various hill tribes, and tranquility of the lush landscape.
Drive to the small community of the Karen hill tribe , the expert elephant mahouts to take an elephant riding to the dense jungle. This is one of the activity to generate the income for the poor hill tribe and to save elephant to survive since they do not work in the forest anymore as Thailand stopped cutting the forest over 20 years. After that ,drive along the dirt track or/and muddy track in the rainy season for 1 hours by 4x4 SUV as a short-cut to Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest mountain of Thailand , passing evergreen forest, beautiful mountain views , hill tribe villages and farmlands . Visit the royal project of the king, the investigation center for the alternative plants for the o***m. Stop to refresh ourselves and relax at the waterfall . Authentic Thai Cuisine will be served for lunch at the restaurant at the national park.
After lunch, continue driving to Maehongson via Mae Cham and Khun Yuam which you will enjoy the changing of the culture, architecture, and life style from local Thai to various tribal style and then, Burmese style .
Arrive Maehongson late evening . Check in at the hotel and relax at leisure . When the city gets to the dark, leaving the hotel to visit the Night Temple and small night market. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Maehongson

Day2.

Wake up to see the city in the mist even in the summer season as Maehongson is the Three Mist City . Breakfast at the hotel , then explore the Burmese cultural city by driving to the hilltop to visit the most important temple of Maehongson, Wat Phrathat Doi Kong Mu. Educate yourselves the Burmese architecture around the temple and enjoy the bird’s eye view of Maehongson Town. Continue driving to less touristic , Nai Soi village ,the first village of the Long-necked Karen in Thailand near the border of Myanmar (Burmar )which is a part of the refugee camp , to witness the mysterious tradition why they wear the bronze rings .A stop also made to visit the Big Ear Kayaw hill tribe. Take a long-tail speed boat in Pai River to enjoy a riding and exotic diversity scenes. Lunch at the Riverside Restaurant at the beautiful resort, then, depart Maehongson for Pai with a stop to visit Lisu hill tribe , original from Tibet, then heading to Pai , the Dream Paradise of the backpackers . Visit a unique colorful night market of Pai . Dinner and stay overnight at a marvelous resort in Pai .

Day3

Lazy wake up to get 99.99 % oxygen outside your room before preparing yourselves to have a big breakfast and depart Pai for Chiangmai. After breakfast , drive to visit a small Chinese village to see their mode of living and test the superb tea around the village .
After that, heading to Chiangmai. Stop to visit Pong Deud geyser to see the hot water spring over the ground .Mini trek around the geyser to investigate the nature and all being in that area , then Drive to Mok Fah Waterfall where you can showering to refresh yourself from the water drop down from the cliff over 20 meters. Lunch at the local restaurant . Then drive to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep by following the white elephant trail leading us to a holy spot where the relic of the Lord Buddha is shrined underneath of the golden pagoda.
Observe the unique style of Lanna architecture and magnificent decorations which make Wat Phra That Doi Suthep the most beautiful temple of Chiangmai.
Fulfill your trip with the bird’s eyes view of Chiangmai city before walking down the serpent or Naga staircases ( 306 steps ) feeling like walking down the heaven before driving back to Chiangmai
