👋 Meet '𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸' one of our village guides and homestay hosts. As a young 𝗟𝗮𝗵𝘂 𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 'Bank' warmly welcomes you to his village. 🌄

🙎‍♂️ 'Bank' wants to teach travellers about traditional 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 in the mountains. He can also show you how to survive attacks from poisonous animals ! 🌿🐍

His dream is to become a teacher, and teach children in his village, for those who don't have money for an education. This is because his family could not afford to send him to school.

By taking a tour with us, you are 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 such as Bank, providing them with the opportunity to develop skills and passions which can be 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀.❤️

On our tours to Doi Angkhang mountain, we have the privilege to visit Ban Khop D**g village school, and their little shop that showcases their sustainable handicraft project "Creative Local Wisdom: Products from Ibu Kae Grass”.

Under this project, students learn how to work with local 'Ibu Kae' grass to create handwoven products such as jewellery, accessories and other handicrafts.Not only do they learn about the design production process, but they also learn about how these products can be sold to generate income.

We are happy that our tours can visit and support local grassroots projects such as these, and our guests can also have fun handicraft shopping !

Last week we gifted Masu and her family, the hosts of Local Longneck Homestay with a battery. They have hooked it up and it will hopefully generate more electricity than with the existing (smaller) battery they have. They also have some solar panels - every little bit helps !

Thank you ! to the Williams Family from the USA 🇺🇸. Some pics from our 4d/3n Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai trip. Together we discovered:
- The hill tribes at Doi Angkhang mountain ⛰
- Stood by the Thai-Myanmar border
- Kayan Long Neck tribe at Local Longneck Homestay
- Authentic local dinners (bamboo hut dining)
- Guitar jam session (with traditional Karen tribe instrument) 🎸
- Trek through the rice fields ....and much more!
