“ I was recommended to do a jungle trek with Alex by a friend.
My friend and I were staying quite a way out of the centre of Chiang Mai, and Alex even came and picked us up in the morning from our friend’s house. Upon his arrival he said it would just be the two of us on the trek!
We then drove to a local market where we could pick up snacks, and he grabbed us some food to eat for our lunch. After this, we drove up into the jungle to begin.
The views were insane, and Alex’s knowledge is second to none. He took us first to a waterfall, stopping along the way showing us things that we would have no clue about, like these little plants that close up when you touch them, and teaching us about farming and the way of life up in the rice fields.
Alex then took us to another waterfall with Mr Boon, and this was absolutely beautiful and so much fun to swim in! He also cooked us an amazing lunch of fresh fish, rice in banana leaf, corn and pineapple.
On our way back from the waterfall we walked through a village, where we saw a litter of week old puppies! Alex is known as the “dog wizard” as he helps to vaccinate and care for the dogs, and he also helps the village and community surrounding it.
You can really tell Alex is so passionate about what he does, and it really is amazing what he does. Both of us had such an incredible day, Alex was a brilliant tour guide - funny, kind, selfless and super knowledgeable. We have both learnt so much, he has opened our eyes and our hearts.
I highly recommend doing a jungle trek with Alex, you would not get a more personal experience. “
