Get to Know Maree
Here at the Karen Tribe Native Elephant, we pride ourselves on treating our elephants like
family. Maree is our oldest elephant at 65 years old & has spent her time taking on the role of a
caring grandma for the rest of the herd. We provide “One Elephant, One Connection,” & Maree
has consistently shown great interest in all of our visitors. She is gentle, calm, and friendly to
everyone she meets.
Why We Need Your Help
Maree is getting older and requires more care. Despite consistent care, her digestion and the
condition of her teeth are beginning to affect her eating habits. With her current state, we are at
risk of losing her to a big elephant center. Our village would be devastated to lose her, so the
Karen Tribe is looking for visitors to sponsor Maree to keep her in our village. Our village is her
home, and we are her family, so it is our priority to do everything possible to keep her happy.
Visitors are also able to come stay with her for the day or overnight to make her feel comfortable
& loved.
