The Cabinet has approved guidelines for national mourning following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother. The resolutions are as follows:

📍 Flag Protocol:
All government offices, state enterprises, public agencies, and educational institutions nationwide are to fly their flags at half-mast for 30 days, starting from 25th October 2025.

📍 Period of Mourning for Officials:
Government officials, state enterprise employees, and public officers are to observe a mourning period of one year, beginning 25th October 2025.

📍 For the General Public:
Members of the public are encouraged to observe mourning in a manner they deem appropriate.

📍 For the Entertainment and Nightlife Sector:
Entertainment businesses are requested to adjust or modify the format of their activities to suit the atmosphere of national mourning.
There is no formal ban or order to suspend entertainment events.

(For events already scheduled or underway, organisers should make suitable adjustments in tone and presentation. For events yet to begin, organisers are advised to postpone them until the mourning period concludes.)

Note:

➡️ There is no government order prohibiting private festive events. The government merely urges all organisers to ensure that their activities are conducted appropriately and respectfully during this period of mourning.

Her Royal Majesty Queen Mother Sirikit of Thailand Passes Away at 93

Bangkok, October 24, 2025 – The Bureau of the Royal Household announced the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother of Thailand, on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 9:21 PM. She passed away peacefully at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, at the age of 93.

Her Majesty had been receiving medical treatment at Chulalongkorn Hospital since September 7, 2019, for ongoing health issues. During her stay, she experienced multiple episodes of illness, with medical examinations revealing abnormalities in various bodily systems, requiring continuous care from her medical team.

On October 17, 2025, Her Majesty developed a bloodstream infection. Despite the dedicated efforts of her medical team, her condition deteriorated progressively. She passed away on October 24, 2025, as confirmed by the Bureau of the Royal Household.

His Royal Majesty the King has issued a royal command for the Bureau of the Royal Household to arrange the funeral rites with the highest honors in accordance with royal traditions. Her Majesty’s body will lie in state at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace. The King has also graciously ordered a mourning period of one year for the royal family and members of the royal court, effective from the date of her passing.

The nation mourns the loss of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, a beloved figure whose grace and dedication to the Thai people will be remembered forever.

It's a fun market to visit. You will find variety of handmade products including of clothing, jewelry, bags and etc. Besides that, there are also a lot of local food and snacks. Not to be missed is the Coconut ice-cream...yum yum

IMPORTANT NOTICE
In accordance to Immigration Act, B.E. 2522
1. All passengers must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card.
2. If the alien stays in the Kingdom longer than 90 days, he/she must notify in writing the nearest Immigration Officer, concerning place of stay, as soon as possible upon expiration of 90 days. And required to do so every 90 days.
3. Aliens are not allowed to work unless they are granted Work Permit.
4. Foreign travelers are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card form no more than 3 days prior to their arrival in Thailand.
