นายพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาเปิดเผยว่า กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาเตรียมเสนอยกเลิกระบบบัตร Thailand Pass สำหรับนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติเข้าประชุมศูนย์บริหารสถานการณ์โควิด-19 (ศบค.) เมื่อวันที่ 17 มิ.ย. ซึ่งจะมีผลในวันที่ 1 กรกฎาคม เป็นต้นไป หลังยกเลิกให้คนไทย 1 มิ.ย. ขณะที่นักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติยังต้องลงทะเบียนเข้า ระบบ Thailand Passเพื่อแจ้งข้อมูลวัคซีน การซื้อประกันสุขภาพ การซื้อประกันสุขภาพมูลค่า 10,000 ดอลลาร์จะถูกยกเลิกโดยอัตโนมัติ โดยประเมินว่าหากศ. เห็นด้วยและอนุมัติการเพิกถอนThailand Passจะทำให้นักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติเดินทางมาประเทศไทยสะดวกยิ่งขึ้นรวมถึงการไม่ทำประกันสุขภาพภาคบังคับอีกต่อไปซึ่งเชื่อว่าจะช่วยดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยวในประเทศเพื่อนบ้านให้เดินทางข้ามพรมแดนเข้ามาในประเทศไทยได้มากขึ้น
