The lotus is one of Thailand's most versatile plants. Its stem is used in Thai cuisine, the large leaves naturally repel water and can wrap food, and the lotus seeds can be enjoyed fresh.

The flower is carefully folded by hand to enhance its beauty before being used as a decoration or, most commonly, as an offering to the Buddha.

"Kanchanaburi War Cemetery"

A quiet place that holds the memories of more than 6,000 Allied prisoners of war who lost their lives during the construction of the Thailand Burma Railway in World War II.

Rows of perfectly kept headstones stretch across the grass, each one carrying a name, a story, and a life far from home.

Nearby, the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre helps bring those stories to life through photographs, personal accounts, and historical details that give a deeper understanding of what happened here.
